El ABB M3JP series are low-voltage cast-iron high-performance flameproof three-phase induction motors for hazardous areas manufactured by ABB Shanghai Electric Motors Co., Limitado. 4.1 Flameproof Principle
Featuring Ex db flameproof construction, safety is ensured by two protective measures:
Flameproof enclosure (Ex d): Withstands internal explosion pressure and prevents flame propagation to the external hazardous atmosphere.
Surface temperature limitation (Ex b): Maximum surface temperature of all motor parts does not exceed the limit defined by temperature class (T4=135°C, T5=100°C, T6=85°C).
