⚙️ Operating Principle

Center Neutral Reset: Clockwise shaft rotation actuates one contact set; counterclockwise rotation actuates the other contact set. When the shaft returns to the center position, both contact sets reset. Suitable for bi-directional travel detection, gate/flap position monitoring and rotary mechanism limit control.

Nota: LSM7N is delivered without operating lever. LSA series rotary levers must be ordered separately.

Honeywell LSM7N (HDLS Heavy-Duty Side Rotary Limit Switch) – Installation

LSM7N body does not include lever. LSA series lever / roller lever must be fitted to actuate the shaft. Two mounting styles available: front mounting and rear mounting. Operating head can be rotated 90° to adjust shaft orientation.

  1. Body Mounting (Two Options)

1) Front Mounting (Más común, Through Holes on Front Face)

Mounting hole pitch: 30mm × 60mm. Four through holes on housing front; normally fastened with 2 bolts on diagonal positions.

Recommended bolt size: M4 / 8 tornillo, suitable for equipment brackets, valve stands and rack steel plates.

Ventaja: No cable disconnection required during maintenance; remove switch directly by loosening front bolts.

2) Rear Mounting (Threaded holes on back housing)

Two threaded mounting holes on rear side. Bolts fasten into switch body from behind the backplate.

Solicitud: Limited front space, concealed fastener requirement.

✅ Both styles are acceptable. Mounting base must be flat to avoid housing deformation and damage to internal drive train.

  1. Operating Head (Shaft Head) Orientation Adjustment
  2. Loosen the operating head set screw; the head can be rotated 90°. Align side rotary shaft to required direction (up/down/left/right) and retighten set screw.
  3. Shaft with bi-directional center-neutral reset: clockwise and counterclockwise rotation trigger contacts separately; contacts reset when shaft returns to neutral.
  4. Lever assembly: Fit LSA lever onto shaft and tighten shaft clamping screw. No slippage allowed between lever and shaft, otherwise position feedback fails.

Crítico: Mechanism-driven lever rotation angle must achieve the minimum 53° overtravel to guarantee reliable contact switching. Slight touching of lever is insufficient.

III. Alambrado & Conduit Installation

  2. Cover opening: Loosen two front cover screws to access terminal compartment. Self-lifting pressure plate terminals for easy wiring. Dedicated earthing terminal inside housing; protective earthing is required to meet safety standards.

  9. Manually actuate machine mechanism to simulate full-open, full-closed and neutral positions:

  2. Important Installation Notes
  3. Mechanical limit protection: Lever shall not strike hard fixed stoppers directly. Maintain buffer clearance to prevent shaft and internal all-metal drive train from twisting and breaking.
  4. Vibration environments: Fit spring washers on bolts for anti-loosening. Avoid heavy direct impact on switch housing.
  5. Protección: Do not paint housing surface; paint will damage sealing. Tighten cover screws evenly to maintain IP67 / NEMA4X rating.
