⚠️ Common Failures & Second-hand Inspection Checklist

Yellowed / black backlight: CCFL lamp aging is the most frequent fault; backlight assembly PS501S-BU00 can be replaced separately
Touch drift / partial touch failure: aging touch panel
CF card read/write error / project loss: damaged card slot or aged motherboard capacitors
No power-up response: failed rectifier capacitors on power board (common issue for AC-powered models)

📎 Project Migration Guidelines

Legacy project: GP-PRO/PBIII project cannot be opened directly in GP4000/ST6000 programming software
Use official Pro-face migration tool to convert the project first. Color difference exists after converting STN display to TFT display; fine-tuning of screen color is required
Most PLC communication protocols can be retained, but communication parameter settings are different on new HMIs

Pro-face GP2501-SC11 Communication Protocols

Hardware: No built-in Ethernet port. Only one COM1 port (25-pin D-Sub, RS232C / RS422 software-selectable), asynchronous serial port only. Programming software: GP-PRO/PBIII. Only serial drivers are available, including Modbus and dedicated PLC serial protocols. Ethernet is not supported; add optional GP077-MLTE41 network card for Ethernet function.

Serial port parameters: 2400 ~ 115200 bps, max. 187.5 kbps; 7/8 data bits, 1/2 stop bits, none/odd/even parity

⚠️ Critical Limitations

No onboard Ethernet; Modbus TCP / S7 TCP/IP are unavailable. Add GP077-MLTE41 expansion card for network connection.
Only one physical COM port: only one protocol can run at a time; multi-device connection is only possible via Modbus RTU multi-drop bus.
S7 MPI: native serial port cannot communicate with MPI directly; an external MPI-to-RS422 converter is required.
Custom serial communication: implement non-standard serial data exchange using PBIII Extended SIO Script.
