Configuration Guidelines
- Add CMK2000 in LOGO!Soft Comfort and define KNX objects (read/write)
- Access the module IP via browser to set KNX parameters, group addresses and perform diagnostics on the web page
- The KNX side can read and write LOGO! internal variables, markers, timers and analog values
Replacement & Compatibility Notes
No direct hardware replacement model; CMK2000 (6BK1700-0BA20-0AA0) is the only option for KNX connection of LOGO! 8 series
If KNX is not required and only Ethernet communication is needed, select LOGO! models with built-in Ethernet (PN variants marked 6ED1052)
Common Troubleshooting
KNX bus communication failure: Check KNX polarity, bus power supply and bus wiring; wire cross-section 0.6~1.0 mm²
Web page inaccessible: Confirm the PC is in the same network segment as LOGO! and wait for module startup completion after power-on
Communication objects not refreshed: Verify LOGO! firmware version and mapping direction (input/output) of group addresses

Application Cases for 6BK1700-0BA20-0AA0 (CMK2000)
Core principle: LOGO!8/8.2 executes local logic, timing, threshold comparison and interlocking; CMK2000 works as a bidirectional gateway to connect KNX bus panels, actuators and sensors. Max. 50 KNX communication objects. ETS5/ETS6 is used for KNX side configuration, and LOGO!Soft Comfort for LOGO! programming and object mapping.
Case 1: KNX Astronomical Timer + Central Lighting Control (Siemens official sample ID:109745699)
Scenario: Office, corridor and public area lighting with automatic timing plus manual override via KNX panels
Hardware: LOGO!8 controller + CMK2000 + KNX 3-gang push-button panel + KNX lighting actuator
Functions:
- LOGO! built-in astronomical timer (sunrise/sunset), weekly/yearly timer automatically sends ON/OFF commands to KNX actuators
- Button signals from KNX panels are uploaded to LOGO! for forced switching and scene selection; panel LEDs receive status feedback from LOGO!
- KNX bus provides time synchronization for LOGO!; time and status can be viewed on TDE text display and LOGO! built-in web page
Object allocation: approx. 8~12 KNX objects
Advantages: No KNX timers required. Leverage LOGO!’s flexible annual calendar and holiday disable logic for automatic lighting shutdown during holidays.
Case 2: Zoned Control for Multi-Room Movable Partition (Official sample ID:109748585)
Scenario: Conference room, multi-function hall, automatic lighting and air conditioning zoning when movable partitions are opened or closed
Hardware: LOGO!8 + CMK2000 + KNX panels, KNX dimming actuators, KNX damper actuators, partition position switches (LOGO! local DI)
Functions:
- Partition position signals are sent to LOGO!; LOGO! judges whether the space is a single large hall or multiple independent rooms
- Zone status is synchronized to KNX bus; when a scene is triggered on the KNX panel, LOGO! enables lighting and air conditioning according to zoning logic
- Cross-zone interlock: When partitions are separated, the panel of zone A cannot control loads in zone B
Advantages: KNX only handles panels and actuators, while complex zoning interlocking logic runs in LOGO!, greatly simplifying ETS projects.
Case 3: Illuminance Threshold Dimming Control (Official sample ID:109748587)
Scenario: Daylight harvesting dimming for offices and exhibition halls
Hardware: LOGO!8 + CMK2000 + KNX light sensor, KNX 0-10V dimming actuator
Functions:
- KNX illuminance value (0~255) is uploaded to LOGO! analog variable
- Threshold comparison and hysteresis filtering are implemented in LOGO! to avoid frequent flickering
- LOGO! sends dimming percentage to KNX dimmer; manual dimming via panel retains higher priority
Features: LOGO! performs filtering, limit protection and delay; KNX only transfers measured values and control values.
Case 4: HVAC Temperature / Humidity + CO₂ Ventilation Interlock (Fresh air for buildings or small server rooms)
Scenario: Small server rooms, laboratories, exhibition halls; interlock for fresh air fans, electric heating and dehumidification
Hardware: LOGO!8 + CMK2000 + KNX temperature/humidity/CO₂ sensors, KNX damper actuators, local contactor outputs on LOGO!
Functions:
- KNX sensors upload temperature, RH and CO₂ concentration to LOGO!
- LOGO! executes PID or threshold logic: increase fresh air when CO₂ exceeds limit, start heating at low temperature, activate dehumidification at high humidity
- Operation status, fault signals and setpoints are sent back to KNX for display on central panels or touch screens
Fitment: LOGO! has native analog processing, delay and alarm functions; CMK2000 bridges KNX sensors and LOGO! logic.
Case 5: Gate / Garage Door Safety Interlock (Official sample ID:109748589)
Scenario: Underground garage roller shutter doors, access control and safety light curtain interlock
Hardware: LOGO!8 + CMK2000 + KNX access control panel, local safety light curtain DI, door motor contactor
Functions:
- KNX access button sends opening authorization signal to LOGO!
- LOGO! performs safety interlock: door opening permitted only when the light curtain is clear and limit switches are normal; auto-close after timeout
- Door status, fault and lock status are fed back to KNX panel LED indicators
Value: Safety interlock logic runs locally in LOGO!; protection remains valid even if the KNX bus is offline.
Case 6: Peak Load Limiting (Energy management, proven overseas solution)
Scenario: Shops, apartment heating circuits, charging pile group power limitation
Hardware: LOGO!8.3+ firmware + CMK2000 + KNX energy meter gateway, multiple heating / charging pile contactors
Functions:
- Real-time active power from KNX meter is uploaded to LOGO!
- LOGO! implements priority sequencing for 8 loads; high-priority loads are retained and low-priority loads are shed when total power exceeds threshold
- Shedding status and current power are sent back to KNX supervision system
Critical requirement: Firmware ≥ FS4, otherwise KNX object binding fails.
Case 7: Auxiliary Industrial Skid (HVAC control cabinets, water pumps, dust removal units integrated into building KNX)
Scenario: Factory auxiliary equipment, chiller units, exhaust fan cabinets; upload equipment status to the building KNX automation system
Hardware: LOGO!8 + CMK2000
Functions:
LOGO! collects pump run status, fault, hand-auto mode, temperature and pressure via local DI/AI
Status, alarms and setpoints are uploaded to KNX through CMK2000; start/stop and setpoints can be issued from KNX side
Advantages: LOGO! provides reliable local control for industrial equipment; expensive KNX IO modules are not required for interconnection between industrial control and building bus.
General Implementation Notes (Applicable to all cases)
- Maximum communication objects: 50, bidirectional (KNX→LOGO / LOGO→KNX), mapped to LOGO! DI/DO, markers M, variables V and timers
- Workflow for commissioning:
LOGO!Soft Comfort: Write logic, add CMK2000, define KNX objects and direction
CMK2000 web page: IP configuration, KNX parameters, diagnostics and online monitoring
ETS5/ETS6: KNX device database, group address binding and download to KNX bus devices
- Bus accessories: Standard KNX bus power supply is mandatory; KNX cable J-Y(ST)Y 2×2×0.8, only red/black pair is used
- Limitations: S7 protocol is not supported, only KNX TP1; communication with LOGO! runs over Ethernet, not backplane bus.
Selection Reference
For simple direct load control by KNX panels: CMK2000 is not needed
Where complex timing, astronomical clock, interlocking, filtering, local IO acquisition and offline protection are required: CMK2000 + LOGO! is a cost-effective solution.
