General Selection & On-site Installation Notes
- MY5010F0500 only matches VY51 series ACTIVAL rotary ball valves, cannot be directly fitted to ordinary globe valves; applicable diameter DN15~DN80, not available beyond this range
- 2-10V position feedback load ≥10kΩ, otherwise feedback signal distortion occurs, which is the most common on-site fault
- Outdoor installation must be upright with sunshade and rain protection; IP54 rating is not for permanent heavy rain exposure
- Max allowable fluid temperature is 175℃. For higher temperature, select high-temperature valve body and install heat insulation bracket to avoid actuator damage from heat conduction

Working Principle of AZBIL MY5010F0500 Electric Proportional Rotary Actuator
MY5010F0500 is a continuous analog controlled electric rotary proportional actuator, specially designed to drive VY51 series rotary ball valves (90° angle stroke). It receives analog setpoint from DDC/PLC and outputs 0~90° rotation of valve shaft, meanwhile provides 2~10V valve position feedback to realize closed-loop valve position control.
Core: Built-in servo control circuit + motor reduction mechanism + angular displacement potentiometer, forming local closed loop inside actuator, not open-loop motor control.

Analog control signals from external BMS/DDC/PLC:
0~10V / 2~10V voltage signal
4~20mA current signal
Signals go through built-in signal conditioning circuit and converted into target valve position setpoint (corresponding to 0°~90°).
- Acquire Actual Current Valve Position (Internal Feedback)
The actuator output shaft couples with built-in angular displacement potentiometer, which detects real-time rotation angle of valve shaft and converts it into measured actual valve position.

Small-power synchronous motor → multi-stage composite plastic & metal reduction gears, reducing speed and amplifying torque to rotate valve stem at 0~90° angle stroke.
Fixed full stroke time (63s @50Hz, 53s @60Hz). It adopts low-speed proportional regulation to avoid impact on valve trim.

When power is off, wrench can directly rotate output shaft for manual valve on/off. The internal potentiometer synchronously follows rotation; actuator automatically recognizes current valve position after power restoration.

It is an active voltage output. The input impedance of upper acquisition module must be ≥10kΩ, otherwise feedback voltage will be pulled down and reading distorted (one of the most frequent site problems).
- Protection Functions
- Stall Protection: When mechanical seizure occurs (valve stem stuck), overload detection stops motor drive to protect motor and gears from burnout.
- Stroke Limit: Internal electronic limit automatically cuts off motor drive at 0% and 100% stroke, no external mechanical limit switches required.
- Position Hold on Power Loss: Actuator holds current valve position upon power loss (no spring return!), classified as power-fail hold actuator.
⚠️Important: MY5010F0500 has no spring return. Valve stays at current position when power fails. It cannot be used for applications requiring fail-safe action (fail open / fail close).

Upper system sends opening command → Actuator main board compares target setpoint vs measured valve position from internal potentiometer → Deviation drives motor and reduction gears to rotate valve shaft → Motor stops once measured position matches target setpoint; meanwhile valve position is converted to 2~10V signal and uploaded to BMS.
