Supplementary Notes
The PNOZ X series is a legacy product and gradually phased out. The P-version supports wire short-circuit diagnosis; if two signal wires short out, the relay will detect the fault and refuse to activate, greatly improving safety.

- Critical Selection Restrictions & Common Pitfalls
- Do NOT enable short-circuit detection when using PNP OSSD safety light curtains
Light curtains already have built-in pulse diagnosis. Enabling short-circuit detection on X2P/X2.8P will cause pulse conflict and continuous fault alarms. Turn off the relay’s short-circuit monitoring in this case.
- Auxiliary NC contact (41-42) cannot be used in safety circuits
Only for PLC fault alarm and indicator feedback.
- Contact load limits
AC15 230 V max. 5 A; DC13 24 V max. 4 A. If contactor coil current exceeds the rating, use PZE contact expansion modules. Do not drive heavy loads directly via safety contacts.
- No time-delayed safety outputs in X series
For delayed stop applications, select PNOZ XV series instead.
- Two-hand control function
Prefer X3P or PNOZ S6; basic X models do not support two-hand logic.
