✅ Common matching cables & spares
S434204 / S434303 / S434305: Insulated ULP cables for systems >480 VAC
S434201 / S434202: Standard ULP cables, for ≤480 V only
- Complete commissioning steps with EcoStruxure Power Commission (Ecoreach)
Preparations
- Wiring: 24 VDC power supply; ULP cable connected to BSCM/BCM; Ethernet cable directly to PC or switch; unused ULP ports must be fitted with terminator plugs
- Software: Free Schneider Ecoreach (EPC), version ≥2.14 recommended; PC IP in the same subnet as LV434002; firewall and proxy disabled
- Factory setting: DHCP; IP can be scanned by software after power-on; hold reset button for 5s to restore DHCP factory setting
Step 1: Discover LV434002 gateway
- Open Ecoreach → Create new project, select [Switchboard]
- Click [Launch Device Discovery], select Ethernet/IP as communication method
- Scan the subnet, identify LV434002 (IFE Server) and add it to the project
- Access IFE web page (browser input IP directly): configure static IP, NTP, SMTP alarm, Modbus-SL serial parameters (baud rate, parity, slave quantity)
Step 2: Scan ULP-connected IFMs and breaker IMUs
- On the IFE gateway topology page, run [Scan ULP Bus]
- Automatically identify all LV434000 IFMs and NSX/MTZ breakers behind BSCM modules
- Verify Modbus slave ID of each IFM; address conflict will be reported directly
- Configure each IFM: modify Modbus-SL parameters, rename, enable/disable auto link
Step 3: Verify breaker parameters and communication
- Open any breaker IMU: read real-time electrical values, status and alarms
- Remote control test: confirm remote lock on breaker panel is unlocked → send open/close command via software; priority check lock position and ULP link light if failed
- Event logging: RTC synchronization (NTP server or manual time setting on web page) to ensure accurate timestamps
- Firmware upgrade: select IFE / IFM / Micrologic trip unit for online upgrade (DO NOT power off during upgrade)
Step 4: Modbus-SL (RS485) configuration (optional)
- Configure Modbus-SL on IFE web page or Ecoreach: 9600~38400 bps, parity, stop bits
- Max. 20 Modbus-SL slaves, independent address space, separate from ULP IFM address planning
- Termination resistor required at the end of Modbus-SL bus
Step 5: Export commissioning report
After telemetry, remote signalling and remote control pass, export switchboard communication test report from Ecoreach for BMS / SCADA integrators
III. Standalone WEB commissioning (on-site quick test without Ecoreach)
- Enter IFE IP on browser within the same subnet to log into built-in Web Server
- Menu: Network (IP, DHCP), ULP Bus, Modbus SL, Time (NTP), Alert (SMTP email alarm), Diagnostic (link diagnosis, event log)
- Diagnosis page displays ULP port signal quality, IFM online status and packet counters for fast fault location
- HS Code & Declaration Notes
LV434002: Schneider Enerlin’X IFE Switchboard Server (Modbus TCP gateway, low-voltage power distribution intelligent communication module)
Recommended HS code: 85176290 (Other communication gateway equipment, industrial Modbus TCP gateway)
Alternative code adopted by some customs brokers: 90308990 (Electrical measuring accessory)
✅ Reminder: HS code subject to final confirmation by customs broker and local customs. I can check customs code for Uzbekistan separately. Declaration elements: Brand: Schneider, Model: LV434002, Application: Communication acquisition gateway for low voltage circuit breakers, Power supply: DC24V, Protocol: Modbus TCP
- Alternative options
- Original direct predecessor: LV434011 (Old IFE switchboard server, obsolete, no RTC, not recommended for new projects, same hardware topology)
- Series selection guide
LV434002: IFE Server ✅ Supports multiple IFMs, Modbus-SL gateway, RTC (this model)
LV434001: IFE Single-breaker Ethernet Interface ❌ No IFM stacking, only one IMU
LV434000: IFM Modbus-SL Interface ❌ Must be connected to LV434002, cannot connect to Ethernet independently
- Domestic alternatives (same function note): ULP is proprietary Schneider bus, domestic gateways cannot interface BSCM directly. Domestic solution requires abandoning ULP and adopting breakers with native Modbus-RTU modules
- Common troubleshooting
- ULP LED yellow flashing: Degraded ULP link, excessive cable length, oxidized connector, missing terminator plug
- Ecoreach cannot find IFE: Mismatched subnet, DHCP IP failure, crossover cable (auto-adaptive port, incompatible with old switches), excessive 24 V voltage drop
- Modbus read successful but remote control invalid: Local lock activated, trip latch, protection interlock, outdated firmware
- Modbus-SL communication failure: Missing termination resistor, A/B reversed, duplicate address, mismatched baud rate
LV434002 core positioning: One gateway aggregates multiple NSX/MTZ breakers inside one switchboard cabinet via ULP + stacked IFMs, with integrated Modbus-SL gateway. Clearly differentiated from LV434001 which serves only one breaker. Below are industry scenarios and architecture scenarios.
- Typical industry application scenarios
- Data Center / IDC low-voltage distribution (high frequency)
Incoming cabinet, bus tie cabinet, UPS output cabinet, precision power distribution cabinet, centralized monitoring of MTZ frame and NSX moulded case breakers
Telemetry electrical parameters, remote signalling for open/close and trip, remote opening; SMTP email / SNMP alarm push for operation & maintenance; RTC ensures accurate event timestamp
Connect to BMS, environmental monitoring and power SCADA for PUE energy statistics, fault tracing and power outage logging
- Industrial plants, production lines, power rooms, chemical / pharmaceutical / semiconductor factories
Main distribution panel and MCC motor control centre with multiple NSX breakers in one cabinet, aggregated by one LV434002 + multiple LV434000 IFMs
Connect to factory SCADA and PLC: overload pre-alarm, harmonic monitoring, load balancing, emergency remote opening; unified maintenance on EcoStruxure Power platform
Predictive maintenance: collect breaker trip history, temperature rise and load trend for scheduled maintenance
- Commercial buildings, office towers, hospitals, rail transit, airports
BMS integration for intelligent LV/MV distribution, sub-metering for lighting, power and air conditioning
Critical load such as hospital: alarm and SOE sequence of event recording for power continuity; local web view, event cache when network offline
Standard configuration for Schneider BlokSeT prefabricated intelligent switchboard with factory-integrated Enerlin’X ULP bus
- PV, energy storage and EV charging distribution & grid-tie cabinet
Monitoring of NSX/MTZ grid-tie breaker: power, energy, trip status, remote opening protection; internal power panel inside energy storage container
Connect to EMS energy management system to collect branch loads for power scheduling
- Retrofit & renovation projects (very common)
Existing NSX/MTZ already fitted with BSCM/BCM ULP modules. Replace multiple LV434001 one-to-one IFEs with one LV434002 aggregator to save IP addresses and switch ports
Compact DIN rail module with DC24V supply, limited cabinet space; no modification to main circuit, only communication wiring added
- Architecture selection guide
✅ Suitable for LV434002 (IFE Server)
- ≥2 intelligent breakers in one cabinet: 1×LV434002 + up to 11×LV434000 IFMs, ULP daisy chain, single Modbus TCP IP for upper system, core advantage over LV434001 one-to-one scheme with higher cost for multi-breaker cabinets
- Cabinet with ULP breakers plus other RS485 Modbus-SL meters: Integrated Modbus-SL gateway supports up to 20 485 slaves (power meters, temperature & humidity sensors, etc.) to convert both ULP breaker data and RS485 data to Modbus TCP, saves extra Modbus gateway
- Local web page, email alarm, independent RTC and offline event log required
- Batch commissioning via Ecoreach: ULP topology scan, batch firmware upgrade for breakers and communication modules
❌ Not suitable, select LV434001 instead
Only one breaker inside cabinet, no IFM stacking and no external Modbus-SL instruments needed
III. Upper system integration
- Host SCADA: KingView, ForceControl, Intouch, Schneider EcoStruxure Power, third-party power monitoring platform, PLC (Siemens / Mitsubishi etc.)
- Local O&M: Direct browser access for data, alarm and manual remote control; Ecoreach for commissioning, verification and report output
- Alarm delivery: Email alarm, SNMP Trap to network management platform
- Limitations & design pitfalls
- ULP is Schneider proprietary bus, only compatible with NSX, MTZ and PowerPact fitted with BSCM/BCM, incompatible with other brands of breakers
- Dual Ethernet ports support daisy chain only, STP ring redundancy not supported. Redundant network for critical IDC requires additional industrial switch
- Remote control requires breaker fitted with motor operator and unlocked local remote lock; the module itself only provides communication channel
