Cablaggio, Commissioning and Troubleshooting Guide (SICK WT160-F410 / 6022788)

1. Passaggi di cablaggio
2. Filo marrone (Spillo 1) to DC10~30V+, blue wire (Spillo 2) to 0V. Verify voltage before power-up. AC supply and reverse polarity are forbidden.
3. Filo nero (Spillo 3) for PNP output: Output voltage approximates supply voltage when target is detected. White wire (Spillo 4) remains unconnected; do not short-circuit.
4. DIP switch:

L/D: Accesa / Dark-on selection

Comissioning Guide (Focus on BGS Background Suppression)

2. Campo di rilevamento: 4–60 mm. Avoid mounting target closer than 4 mm (risk of false triggering). 8–50 mm is the preferred stable working zone.
3. BGS characteristic: Only detects objects within the set distance; metal frames, conveyor belts and other rear backgrounds will not trigger the sensor.

✅ Commissioning verification method:

① Place target workpiece, yellow LED lights up;

② Remove workpiece, yellow LED turns off;

③ Keep workpiece in place and move background plate closer to the sensor. If yellow LED status stays unchanged, background suppression works properly.

3. Punto luminoso: Small red spot, suitable for tiny workpieces. For highly reflective bright metal parts, increase distance appropriately to avoid saturation and false triggering.
4. Installazione: Keep optical window free of oil, dust and coolant. Prevent direct strong light exposure (sunlight, high-power light sources).

5. Max output current: 100 mA. Do not drive solenoid valves or high-power relays directly; utilizzare relè intermedi.
6. IP67: Only protected against temporary splash water. Not for permanent immersion. Extra protection required for coolant or oil mist environments.
7. Modello fuori produzione: Higher risk of optical drift and unstable signal with aging. Replace with WT160-F420 once instability occurs.

1. Standard diffuse (without BGS) – Suitable for single, distant clean backgrounds. Basso costo. Strongly affected by target color and reflectivity; black targets may fail detection.
2. BGS Background Suppression Diffuse (WT160-F410) – Triangulation principle. Only detects objects within the target distance and shields rear frames, conveyors and metal backgrounds. Suitable for short-range, cluttered background applications where workpieces sit close to conveyors; widely used in custom automation.
