  14. Rated power supply range is limited to DC 10~30V; AC220V or AC110V input is strictly prohibited, which will burn the sensor instantly.
  15. Max. output load is 100mA. Direct driving of solenoid valves or contactors is forbidden; add relay isolation if high-power loads need to be driven.
  16. Drilling, grinding or disassembling the sensor housing is prohibited. Damaged IP67 seal will result in loss of dustproof and waterproof performance.
  17. Prevent strong light from directly irradiating the optical window (sunlight, welding arc, high-power spotlights), which causes false triggering and detection failure.
  18. Avoid heavy impact or dropping; offset internal optical path will permanently degrade detection stability.

  1. Mechanical Installation Specifications

3.1 Dimensiuni generale

W11mm × H31mm × Depth 20mm; symmetric M3 internal threaded mounting holes on both sides.

3.2 Bracket Mounting Steps

  1. Secure BEF-W100-A bracket to equipment sheet metal or aluminum extrusion and pre-tighten screws.
  2. Clip the sensor into the bracket slot, align bilateral M3 holes, and pass through M3 bolt, flat washer and spring washer.
  3. Standard Tightening Torque: 1.8 Nm

Insufficient torque: Vibration causes sensor offset and light spot drift;

Excessive torque: Thread stripping, housing deformation and optical path misalignment.

  1. Fine-tune vertical & horizontal angles of the sensor to fully cover target surface with red light spot, then lock all bolts.

3.3 Installation Clearance Requirements (Critical for Background Suppression)

  1. Reserve a minimum clearance of 30mm between sensor optical window and fixed rear background; otherwise background interference leads to permanent false ON signal.
  2. Standard detection range: 40~300mm (90% high-reflective white object); 30~40mm is critical range susceptible to material interference.
  3. Do not place metal, mirror or high-reflective panels closely behind the sensor; intense diffuse reflection will disable background suppression.
  4. Pipeline installation: Align light spot to workpiece center, avoid conveyor joints, rollers and metal supports.
  5. Multiple sensors mounted side-by-side: Adjacent sensor spacing ≥50mm to prevent mutual red light crosstalk interference.

3.4 Permitted / Prohibited Installation Environments

✅ Permitted: Dry workshop, light dust, intermittent water spray (IP67 temporary water resistance), environment of -25℃~+55℃

❌ Interzis: Continuous immersion, strong corrosive acid/alkali liquid, long-term cutting oil splash, temperature above +55℃ or below -25℃, areas beside heavy electromagnetic cabinets (invertoare, high-power motors)

4.2 Wiring Operation Steps

  1. Confirm power supply cut off, insert M8 connector straight into the slot at sensor tail, tighten thread clockwise without brute force.
  2. Route cables away from power cables and inverter output lines with separation ≥10cm to avoid electromagnetic interference.
  3. Cable bending radius ≥5× cable outer diameter; hard folding or long-term extrusion of cable root is forbidden.
  4. Fit a 4A slow-blow fuse in power circuit to protect sensor against short-circuit damage.

4.3 PNP Output Matching Instruction

Connect PLC input common terminal to 24V negative; connect black signal wire of sensor directly to PLC input point. No external pull-up resistor required.

5.1 Alignment Operation

  1. După pornire, green power LED stays steady; observe red light spot at front end.
  2. Adjust sensor angle to fully cover target workpiece without partial spot falling on background bracket.

5.2 Potentiometer Adjustment Flow (Background Suppression Calibration)

  1. Place target workpiece at maximum sensing distance (300mm), slowly turn potentiometer clockwise until orange output LED just lights up.
  2. Remove workpiece, orange LED must turn off; if it remains on, background interference exists — increase distance between sensor and background or fine-tune potentiometer counterclockwise.
  3. Repeat placing & removing workpiece for verification: LED lights when workpiece is present, extinguishes when absent, no frequent flashing means calibration completed.
  4. The potentiometer supports 4-turn adjustment with high fine-tuning precision; avoid excessive rotation each time.
  5. Light-on / Dark-on Mode Switching

Small toggle switch on sensor side:

L (Light-on): Output ON when light spot is blocked by object (orange LED illuminated), default mode for pipeline workpiece presence detection.

D (Dark-on): Output ON when no object exists; signal cut off when workpiece arrives, suitable for empty position & missing material alarm.
