Troubleshooting Guide for Party ADN-20-25-I-P-A (552788)

Precaution: Cut off air supply, release pressure and lock the air supply switch before maintenance to prevent unintended movement. This model is designed for lifetime lubrication; additional oiling is not required. Dry filtered non-lubricated compressed air is recommended.

Fehlerbehebungssequenz: Air supply → Solenoid valve & tubing → Flow control → Mechanical alignment → Cylinder body → Magnetic switch

Cylinder does not move at all

Luftzufuhr: Niederdruck (recommended 0.4~0.6 MPa), verstopfter Filter, condensed water in FRL unit, shut-off main valve. Measure pressure at cylinder port and compare with main gauge.

Steuerkreis: No output from solenoid valve, burnt coil. Test valve via manual override; check for missing PLC signals.

Blocked air circuit: G1/8 port, throttle fully closed, crushed tubing. Disconnect tube and check exhaust flow.

Mechanischer Anfall: Jammed load, misaligned guide, binding piston rod. Disconnect load and test cylinder independently with air supply.

Cylinder internal fault: Stuck piston seal, foreign debris inside barrel. Manually push rod; obvious resistance or immobility indicates jam.

Erratic movement, judder, Stick-Slip

Incorrect throttling: Meter-in throttling easily causes chattering. Meter-out throttling is preferred. Mount one-way flow regulators on exhaust ports and adjust gradually.

Tubing issues: Undersized tubing, long piping leading to large pressure drop. Shorten hoses or increase tube diameter.

Fehlausrichtung: Load guide not coaxial with piston rod. Use floating joint to eliminate rigid binding.

Contaminated piston rod: Dust or metal shavings scratch wiper seal. Clean rod; install protective boot for dusty environments.

Unstable supply pressure: Install upstream air reservoir for pressure stabilization.

Insufficient thrust, fails to reach end position

Low supply pressure or large transient pressure drop; add upstream air tank.

Premature hard stop from external limit: Adjust stopper. Avoid piston hard impact against external mechanical stops.

Internal leakage: Worn piston seal causing cross-port leakage. Symptom: Rod slowly retracts under holding pressure, obvious loss of force.

Over-tight cushion screw: Cushion screw screwed too deep restricts exhaust; fine-adjust cushion screw.

Luftleckage (extern / internal)

Fitting leakage: Uneven tube cut, incomplete insertion, poor thread sealing. Test with soapy water.

Front end external leakage: Worn wiper / rod seal, scratches on piston rod.

End cap leakage: Aged O-rings on front/rear end caps.

Internal leakage diagnosis: Pressurize one chamber; continuous exhaust from the opposite chamber confirms damaged piston seal. If cylinder barrel is scored, repair is not feasible; replace cylinder directly.

Notiz: ADN compact barrels are thin-walled. Once scratched, seal replacement will quickly leak again.

Magnetic switch false triggering, no detection or signal loss (magnetic version)

Mismatched switch: SME-8 series is required for ADN magnetic rings.

Montageposition: Switch outside travel range or loose mounting.

Magnetic interference: Nearby iron blocks, strong magnets or metal brackets. Increase clearance.

Übertemperatur: Operating range -20~+80℃; out-of-range temperature causes unstable switch behaviour.

Damaged magnetic ring: Cracked or demagnetised piston magnet (selten, usually after heavy impact).

Wiring fault: Low 24V supply, broken wire or short circuit.

Heavy impact, rebound, loud end-of-stroke noise

Improper cushion setting: Excess cushion opening → impact; cushion fully closed → rebound. Adjust both cushion screws slowly for smooth stopping.

Excessive meter-out flow, hohe Geschwindigkeit. Reduce flow regulator setting first, then fine-tune cushion.

High load inertia exceeding built-in cushion capacity. Add external hydraulic shock absorber.

Repair Decision Guidance

Only O-rings and rod seal worn, barrel undamaged: Festo original repair kit can be used for seal replacement.

Zerkratzte Kolbenstange, scored barrel or deformation: Replace cylinder 552788 directly, repair is not recommended.

Do not add lubricating oil arbitrarily; excess oil attracts dust and accelerates seal wear.
