Scénarios d'application typiques
Equipment operation cycle counting, production line workpiece counting, total output statistics for stamping/packaging/textile machinery. Suitable for low-speed contact pulse signals (détecteurs de proximité, interrupteurs de fin de course, contact relais). Not applicable for high-frequency pulses.
Guide de dépannage
- No counting: Check 24V power supply; verify reliable ON/OFF of input contacts. Contact bounce may cause missing counts; confirm pulse frequency ≤25 Hz.
- Échec de la réinitialisation: Jammed manual reset mechanism or worn internal gears (common ageing fault for electromechanical counters).
- Erratic counting / extra counts: Contact bounce; add RC debounce circuit; pulse frequency exceeds 25 HZ.
- Stuck digits: Worn internal gears, irreversible mechanical damage; remplacement requis.
Sélection alternative (Replacement for Discontinued Unit)
- Equivalent mechanical counters: Compare panel cutout dimensions. Select alternative 6-digit electromechanical totalising counters, verify reset function and 25 Hz limit.
- Electronic pulse counters: Schneider XBT series or domestic electronic counters, support higher frequency, external power supply required, some models offer power-fail data retention.
Note: Mechanical models limited to 25 Hz max. Electronic counters must be selected if field pulse >25 HZ.
Installation & Accessoires
Panel cutout size 20×30 mm, front panel snap-in mounting; AMP lug wiring, incompatible with standard screw terminals.
Typical Application Cases of Schneider XBKT60000U10M Electromechanical Totalising Counter
Core characteristics preamble: 6-digit mechanical accumulation, DC24V supply, dry contact input, maximum 25 HZ, front panel manual reset, permanent value retention after power loss. Optimized for low-speed contact pulse scenarios; unsuitable for high-frequency pulses.
Cas 1: Stamping Machine – Cumulative Mold Stroke Counting
Scénario
Petit & medium mechanical stamping press, total stroke counting for mold life management. Schedule maintenance/mold repair once target stroke count is reached.
Solution
- Signal Acquisition: Limit switch actuated when slide reaches bottom dead centre, dry contact signal wired to XBKT counter input; DC24V sourced from machine control circuit.
- Montage: Embedded into machine operation panel, 20×30 mm cutout.
- Logique: +1 count for every completed stamping cycle upon contact closure; count value preserved after power cut. Rotate front reset knob to zero when mold is replaced.
Avantages
Direct-read mechanical rollers, readable under strong light and dusty workshop environments; no battery required to retain cumulative data.
Limites
Stamping cycle frequency cannot exceed 25 counts/second. RC debounce is required to avoid miscounting caused by contact bounce.
Cas 2: Packaging Line – Total Finished Carton Output Counting
Scénario
Low-speed carton packaging line (faire du vélo >0.04 s). Count total cartons off the line for shift/monthly production logging, acting as independent hardware backup counter separate from PLC.
Solution
Photoelectric proximity sensor detects carton presence and outputs dry contact pulse to XBKT; PLC performs real-time monitoring, while XBKT serves as independent hardware totaliser.
Valeur
Cumulative production data remains intact even if PLC stops or power fails, preventing data loss. Operators read values directly without PC access. Manual reset for new production shifts.
Cas 3: Injection Molding Machine – Mold Open/Close Cycle Counting
Scénario
Horizontal injection molding machine. Count total mold open-close cycles to predict wear on mold, guide pins and ejector pins for predictive maintenance planning.
Solution
Use limit switch signal triggered when mold is fully closed to drive counter; DC24V from injection machine control power supply.
Points clés
Capture stable mold fully closed signal only. Avoid solenoid valve signals (prone to bounce and false counts).
Count value retained during power-off maintenance; manual reset upon mold replacement.
Cas 4: Conveyor Sorting Equipment – Cumulative Material Count
Scénario
Low-speed belt sorting line (material interval >40 MS). Count total workpieces passing through sorting station.
Solution
Diffuse photoelectric sensor detects incoming material and sends dry contact pulse; XBKT performs total accumulation.
Suitable for cartons and large workpieces. Not recommended for high-speed small-item sorting (frequency exceeding 25 HZ), electronic counters required instead.
Cas 5: Hydraulic Equipment – Cylinder Actuation Cycle Count
Scénario
Hydraulic workholding fixtures and hydraulic bending machines. Count reciprocating cylinder cycles to evaluate service life of seals and cylinder assembly.
Solution
Magnetic proximity switch triggered when cylinder fully extends, dry contact pulse for counting; unit installed inside control cabinet panel.
Caractéristiques
Robust mechanical gear design suitable for high vibration industrial environments; immune to EMI interference from variable frequency drives and will not lose counts.
Cas 6: Valve Test Bench – Valve Opening/Closing Durability Cycle Test
Scénario
Fatigue life test bench for gate valves and butterfly valves. Count total valve open-close cycles.
Solution
Limit switch at fully open valve position provides counting pulse; 24 Alimentation V CC. Manual reset when test batch changes.
Matches XBKT’s strength for low-speed dry-contact counting and power-fail retention, acts as hardware checksum against upper computer logged data.
General Notes for Selection & Opération (Applicable à tous les cas)
- 25 Hz pulse limit: Event interval ≥40 ms. Electronic counters must be used for faster cycles.
- Dry contact input only: Accept relays, limit switches and proximity switch passive contacts; cannot connect voltage pulses directly.
- Environmental tolerance: -40~+85°C operating range, suitable for dusty workshops; avoid heavy oil immersion on digit window.
- Statut du produit: Ce modèle est abandonné. Non recommandé pour les nouveaux projets. Spare part replacement for existing machines can use alternative domestic 6-digit electromechanical counters or Schneider electronic counters.
Counting Accuracy of Schneider XBKT60000U10M
This is an electromechanical totalising counter. Unlike measuring instruments with percentage accuracy, official datasheets do not specify ±xx% error. Core definition: Under rated operating conditions, 1 pulse = 1 count with zero pulse error.
- Counting Resolution
1 count (1 chiffre). 6-digit mechanical roller, display range: 000000 ~ 999999, minimum counting unit = 1 event.
- Nominal Counting Accuracy (Ideal Operating Condition)
All conditions met: 1 valid input pulse = accurate +1 increment, no inherent counting error
Dry contact input pulse ≤25 Hz
Good contact debounce with no bounce or duplicate pulses
DC24V supply within 19.2~26.4 V
Température de fonctionnement -40 ~ +85°C, no continuous heavy shock/vibration
Intact mechanical gears without jamming or wear
Nature: It is an event counter, not a metering instrument. New unit under rated conditions will not lose or add spurious counts, no percentage error defined in factory documentation.
- Sources of Field Count Error (Not inherent counter inaccuracy)
- Contact bounce (most frequent cause): Mechanical bounce of limit/relay contacts generates multiple pulses from one single action → extra counts.
- Pulse frequency over 25 HZ: Signals arrive faster than internal electromagnetic mechanism can respond → lost counts.
- Ageing and mechanical wear: Long-term operation causes gear wear and jamming → missed counts or stuck digits (ageing failure, requires replacement).
- Supply voltage drop: Insufficient voltage fails to pull in electromagnetic actuator → no counting action.
- Distinction critique
✅ New unit with compliant pulses: Counting Accuracy = ±0 counts
❌ Percentage error metrics like ±0.1%, ±1% do NOT apply; no such parameter in official documentation.
Visual reading error for mechanical rollers: Max ±0.5 digit, occurs when roller sits between two numerals (human reading deviation).
- Conseil de sélection
For metering-grade precision (percentage error requirement), electromechanical counters such as XBKT are unsuitable. Electronic pulse counters are recommended.
