- Lead-calcium grid, low self-discharge, excellent recovery performance after deep discharge.
- FR flame-retardant housing, meets safety requirements for fire equipment, security systems and industrial control devices.
- Suitable for long-term float standby power supply as well as short-period cyclic operation.
Typical Applications
Small UPS uninterruptible power supply, fire emergency lighting
Security alarm host, access controller
Instrumentation, medical backup power supply
Parking lock, small emergency light, electric toys
Selection & Replacement Guidelines
- Three priority criteria for replacement: 12V, 2.6Ah capacity, F1 0.187 inch tab terminal; keep housing dimensions as consistent as possible.
- Ordinary HB housing batteries are not recommended to replace FR flame-retardant version. Fire and security equipment are subject to mandatory flame retardancy requirements.
- Float charge applications must strictly control float voltage. High ambient temperature will drastically shorten service life.
- Over-discharge is prohibited; discharge cut-off voltage shall not be lower than 10.5V. Severe under-discharge will cause irreversible capacity degradation.
Troubleshooting Guide
Open-circuit voltage below 12.0V: Likely undercharged. Recharge with low constant current first; voltage below 10.5V usually means battery failure.
Voltage drops rapidly after charging: Internal plate sulfation or short circuit in single cell, replace directly.
Bulging or overheating housing: Overcharging, check if charger voltage drifts.
YUASA NP2.6-12FR (12V 2.6Ah, UL94-V0 Flame-retardant Housing) Applications
Core Positioning: Primarily for float standby power, light cycling as secondary use; FR flame-retardant housing, preferred for fire protection and security equipment requiring fire resistance
- Fire Emergency Category (Main Application of FR Version)
- Fire emergency lighting lamps, exit signs, evacuation indicator lights
- Fire alarm control panel, smoke/heat detector controller, backup power for fire linkage modules
- Emergency broadcast, backup battery for fire telephone extensions
- Security & Anti-theft Systems
- Burglar alarm host, infrared beam detector, perimeter alarm controller
- Access controller, backup power for electromagnetic locks, indoor video intercom
- Backup power for small PTZ / power box in surveillance (short-duration power failure backup)
- Small UPS & Industrial Control Equipment
- Micro UPS, low-power industrial uninterruptible power supply (power failure protection for PLC and small controllers)
- Industrial instruments, testing equipment, online monitoring device backup power
- Small POS terminals, toll controllers, backup power for parking locks
- Backup Power for Medical Instruments
- Portable patient monitors, blood pressure monitors, backup power for small medical instruments during power outage
Note: Only for short-time standby power, NOT suitable for high-power life-support equipment.
- Other Light-load Applications
- Small solar / wind micro energy storage (low-power off-grid system, float charge mode)
- Vending machines, self-service terminal backup power
- Small electric devices, electric toys (light cycling, NOT for frequent deep discharge)
Selection Notes (Key Points for FR Version)
NP2.6-12FR adopts UL94-V0 flame-retardant housing. FR model must be used for fire and security projects. Ordinary NP2.6-12 (non-flame-retardant housing) cannot substitute FR version for fire equipment acceptance. This battery is designed mainly for float standby service, not for continuous high-power or frequent deep discharge scenarios.
YUASA NP2.6-12FR Outline Dimensions (Original Spec, Unit: mm)
Length(L): 70 mm
Width(W): 48 mm
Case Height(H, excluding terminals): 94 mm
Overall Height(TH, including F1 terminals): 99 mm
Tolerance: Length/Width ±1mm, Overall Height ±2mm
Weight: Approx. 0.9 kg
Terminal: F1 4.75mm (0.187 inch) quick-disconnect tab
Remarks: NP2.6-12 and NP2.6-12FR have identical outer casing dimensions. FR only indicates flame-retardant UL94-V0 housing with no dimension difference.
Recommended reserved space for enclosure installation: 72×50×101mm
YUASA NP2.6-12FR Operating Temperature (YUASA NP Series Spec)
Discharge Temperature: -15℃ ~ +45℃
Charge Temperature: -15℃ ~ +40℃
Storage Temperature: -15℃ ~ +50℃
✅ Recommended optimal ambient temperature: 20~25℃. 25℃ is the reference temperature for rated capacity and service life.
⚠️ Important Reminders
- Long-term operation above 25℃ will significantly shorten battery life; service life halves roughly for every 8~10℃ rise.
- Available discharge capacity decreases at low temperature; runtime reduces under sub-zero conditions.
- Charging must not exceed upper limit +40℃, otherwise bulging and thermal runaway risk may occur.
- Temperature compensation is recommended for float charging: -3mV/℃ per cell.
YUASA NP2.6-12FR Weight
Approx. 0.9 kg (nominal weight from original manufacturer, including electrolyte)
Imperial conversion: ≈1.98 lbs
Remarks:
- NP2.6-12 and NP2.6-12FR share identical internal plates and electrolyte. FR only refers to flame-retardant modified housing with no weight difference.
- Mass production tolerance: typically ±0.05kg.
- Net weight of finished product, excluding packaging.
YUASA NP2.6-12FR Voltage Parameters
Nominal Output Voltage: DC 12V
Voltage at Different States (@25℃)
- Fully charged open-circuit voltage: Approx. 12.8~13.0V
- Float operating voltage (standby mode): 13.65V ±0.15V
- Cycle charging voltage: 14.4~15.0V
- 20HR standard discharge cut-off voltage: 10.5V (Stop discharge once reaching this value; continued discharge will damage the battery)
Supplementary Notes:
Under loaded discharge, voltage gradually drops as SOC decreases. Larger load causes larger instantaneous voltage drop.
Temperature affects voltage: Temperature coefficient -3mV/℃ per cell, total -18mV/℃ for 6 cells.
Open-circuit voltage below 12.0V indicates undercharged battery; prolonged voltage below 10.5V easily causes irreversible plate sulfation and scrapping.
