Comparison with Related Models

Fluke 572-2: 60:1 Verhältnis, max infrared temp 900℃, with K-type thermocouple and data storage

Fluke 568: 50:1 Verhältnis, max infrared temp 800℃

Fluke 62 MAX+: 12:1 Verhältnis, max temp 650℃, entry-level industrial model

Auswahl & Betriebshinweise

  1. D:S=60:1: The spot size increases with measurement distance; shorten distance when measuring small targets
  2. Polished metallic surfaces have low emissivity and may cause large measurement error. High-temperature tape is recommended to raise emissivity
  3. Infrared measures surface temperature only; K-type thermocouple is used for contact temperature comparison
  4. Not suitable for measurement through glass or transparent plastics (infrared radiation will be blocked)

Fluke 572-2 Troubleshooting Checklist

Recommended troubleshooting sequence: Power supply → Lens / Optical path → Parameter setting → Ambient condition → Hardware / Error code; Do NOT disassemble the unit. Disassembly of internal laser and sensor will void calibration and warranty.

  1. Power Supply Faults
SymptomGrundursacheAbhilfe
Blank screen, no response when trigger is pulledSleep mode / Dead battery / Umgekehrte Polarität1. Pull trigger to wake up; 2. Replace with new AA alkaline batteries, verify polarity; 3. Inspect battery contacts for oxidation or electrolyte corrosion
Low battery icon displayed, unstable readingsInsufficient battery voltageReplace batteries immediately; Accuracy is unreliable under low power, discontinue inspection
Emissivity, time and stored data lost after battery replacementBattery removal exceeds 1 min, mainboard power resetReplace battery promptly upon low power alert; Complete battery swap within 1 Minute; Reconfigure parameters afterwards
  1. Anzeige & Error Codes
SymptomGrundursacheAbhilfe

EEPROMErr / CalAreaErr / ProbCalErDamaged internal storage / calibration dataNo on-site repair possible. Stop operation and send to Fluke authorized service center
Alarm light flashes with buzzer soundHoch / low temperature alarm triggeredEnter menu to check threshold, modify or disable alarm as required

III. Laser Targeting Faults

SymptomGrundursacheAbhilfe
Valid infrared reading but dual laser does not turn onLow battery; Ambient temp>40℃; Laser disabled in menu1. Batterie austauschen; 2. Move to location with ambient temp ≤40℃; 3. Enable laser in menu
Blurred or offset laser spotDirty or scratched lensLinse reinigen; Replace lens assembly if scratched
  1. Inaccurate / Drifting Readings (Most Common Fault)

Distinguish first: Infrared reading error VS K-type thermocouple probe error

Inaccurate Infrared Readings

  1. Wrong emissivity setting: Polished metal has low emissivity leading to high reading; Non-metal has high emissivity. Adjust emissivity from 0.10~1.00; Apply high-temperature tape for shiny metal (emissivity≈0.95)
  2. Field-of-view spot issue: D:S=60:1. Too long distance results in spot larger than workpiece and captures surrounding hot/cold objects. Shorten distance and ensure full spot coverage on target surface
  3. Linsenverschmutzung: Staub, Öl, moisture attenuate infrared signal

✅ Cleaning procedure: Blow with compressed air → Brush gently with camel hair brush → Wipe with cotton swab moistened with pure water; Do NOT use alcohol, acetone or other solvents, which will damage infrared lens

  1. Ambient interference: Hot air stream, Dampf, smoke, Glas / transparent plastic blocking optical path; starke elektromagnetische Störungen (Schweißgerät, induction heating); water film or oxide scale on target surface
  2. Thermal shock: Sensor unstable when moved from drastically different temperature environment. Let instrument stabilize ≥30 minutes on site before measurement
  3. Reflected heat from surrounding hot sources causes falsely high reading: Adjust measurement angle to avoid hot background reflection

No Reading / Abnormal Reading on K-type Thermocouple Channel

  1. Loose or oxidized probe connector; gebrochener Draht

✅ Remedy: Re-seat connector; Cross-test with 80PK series K-type probe to identify fault on probe or instrument jack

  1. Wrong thermocouple type selected: Unit only accepts K-type. S/T/J type probes cannot read correctly
  2. Cold junction compensation anomaly: Large temperature difference at probe terminal
  3. USB Communication & Data Export Faults
SymptomGrundursacheAbhilfe
PC fails to recognize instrument and export recordsInstrument not powered on; FlukeView Forms software not running; Damaged USB cable1. Hold trigger to keep unit powered; 2. Launch FlukeView Forms software; 3. Replace USB cable for test; 4. Check PC USB port
Stored data lostBattery depleted for long time; Battery replacement timeoutExport records regularly; Replace battery at low power prompt
  1. Mechanisch & Appearance Faults
  2. Sticky trigger: Dust accumulated in trigger gap, clean with dry brush, Do NOT apply lubricant
  3. Cracked housing: Damage from drop impact. Crack does not affect temperature reading but reduces ingress protection, keep away from moisture
  4. Lens scratch: Scratch introduces measurement error, return to factory for lens replacement and recalibration

VII. Fehlerurteil & Service Standard (When to Stop Using)

✅ On-site repairable: Battery replacement, lens cleaning, parameter reset, probe cross-verification

❌ Must send to official service, no disassembly allowed:

  1. EEPROM or calibration related error codes
  2. Cracked lens, internal water condensation
  3. Persistent reading deviation after drop impact, cannot be corrected by lens / emissivity adjustment
  4. Battery leakage corroding mainboard contacts

VIII. Quick On-Site Self-Check Procedure

  1. Install new batteries and stabilize for 30 min under ambient condition
  2. Linse reinigen, restore factory menu setting, set emissivity to 0.95
  3. Measure warm water (ca. 80~90℃) in infrared mode, connect K-type thermocouple for contact comparison; Deviation shall stay within specified accuracy
  4. Verify laser, high/low alarm, backlight and trigger hold function
  5. Test USB connection and data read/write
